Who Am I


Lorine was named by Marie Claire as one of the “Most 50 Connected Women in America,” by Worth as one of the 16 Financial Powerhouses in their March Women & Wealth issue, by Medium as one of the “200 Women of Color to Follow on Twitter," and by Black Enterprise as "20 Angel Investors You Should Know."

A seasoned business development executive with extensive experience in the legal, technology and entertainment industries. 

A member of Pipeline Angels, a network of women investors changing the face of angel investing and providing capital to women entrepreneurs. With over 200 members, Pipeline has collectively invested $4 million in 40+ companies. She is also  an investment partner in Portfolia Funds, an innovative platform that brings together growth-stage companies, and a collaborative network of investors in a unique combination of angel investing and micro-funding. It has invested multi-millions in several dozen companies in the enterprise software, consumer, data analytics, life sciences and active aging sectors with collaboration with many of the top angel groups and VC firms in the US. 

She practiced as an attorney at Londell McMillan PC, a leading boutique entertainment law firm, where she structured and negotiated multi-faceted entertainment and media deals on behalf of clients such as Prince, Spike Lee, Ruff Ryders Records, Faith Evans, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, and the estate of the Notorious BIG.

Her startup/technology experience includes serving as a business development executive at SelectMinds, a corporate social networking software company acquired by Oracle and Community Connect, a social media network acquired by Radio One.  

Education: Brown University (BA - Economics), New York Law School (JD), Kauffman Foundation FastTrac New Ventures Entrepreneurship (Graduate Certificate) and Lean Startup Machine. 

My Passion


Investing and advising women and diverse-led businesses. Leveling the playing field so women and diverse-led entrepreneurs have equal access to financial, social and human capital.

A frequent speaker on the state of women and diverse entrepreneurship, angel investing and diversity. Previous speaking engagements include the Angel Capital Association Annual Summit, Merrill Lynch, Columbia Business School, Brown University, Evolve Law, Microsoft, Refinery29, She Leads, Hera Venture Summit, Tech Inclusion (Google for Entrepreneurs) and CUNY/Baruch College.

Guest judge on BET/Centric TV's 2017 breakout series Queen Boss, a pitch competition show where African-American female entrepreneurs compete for a grand prize to fund their businesses.

Advise entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses on how to launch, raise funds, scale and exit their businesses.

Investments include Cisse, Hire an Esquire, TrakLight, Tastemakers Africa and Portfolia Fund.

Featured in numerous publications including Fortune, Marie Claire, Essence, Fast Company, Huffington Post and Black Enterprise.
